MIGLIANICO - CHIETI PROVINCE
The scenic village of Miglianico stands on a hilly ridge surrounded by luxuriant vineyards. In celebration of this fact, there is a wine festival, each August, and the town has its own cantina.
The village developed in the 10th Century, but the ancient medieval castle was damaged during World War II although it has been completely transformed, since. The Church of San Pantaleone can be seen towering above Miglianico’s roofs.
The town is famous for Abruzzo’s foremost golf course, which was designed by renowned American golf architect, Ronald Kirby. The Miglianico Golf and Country Club has 18 holes, is par 72 and is 5,875 metres long. It possesses water hazards, bunkers, twists along woods, out of bounds and two practice fields.
