TERAMO - TERAMO PROVINCE
Teramo is at a height of 265 metres above sea level and is the capital of the province of the same name. It is located on a plateau at the meeting of the rivers Tordino and Vezzola, halfway between the peaks of the Gran Sasso and the Adriatic Sea. The countryside surrounding Teramo is rich in vineyards and olive groves.
The city has ancient origins and there are many historical sights to visit. There are remains of a Roman amphitheatre, medieval churches, noble palaces, gardens, museums and galleries to explore. The centre is relatively small, and walking is the recommended way for getting around.
With a population of 54,775 the city has every facility that a resident would require and as a capital it brings both coastal and mountain culture together, especially in cuisine.
Teramo hosts may events including music, theatre, dance, film and cookery.
