Pescocostanzo is located on the slopes of Mont Calvario at 1,395 feet above sea level and is a great tourist location both in summer and winter. The skiing is some of the most exciting in the region and Pescocostanza is a delightful place to stay, with various ski resorts, less than ten minutes away. It acquired considerable wealth from farming during 16th-18th centuries but today Pescocostanza survives on income from tourism.
The population of 1,081 is served by a bank, post office, pharmacy, various food shops, plenty of restaurants and bars.
