Frondarola is 458 metres above sea level and looking out from the village it is possible to see the peaks of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga Mountains, as well as the hills of the Pescara and Ascoli Piceno areas of Abruzzo.
Archaeological evidence points to the existence of Frondarola in the pre-Roman era although the first documentation dates to 1076.
